Our screened seeding soil and topsoil for new lawn projects is ideal for garden beds, levelling, raised borders, and general landscaping where depth is needed. Our rootzone soil is a fine-textured sandy loam mix, specifically formulated as a topsoil for turfing it promotes fast root establishment and strong grass growth from day one. Both products are supplied in bulk bags and are available for next-day delivery across Scotland, including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee, Perth, and Fife.

We also supply topsoil in quantity to landscape architects, civil engineers, golf courses, and local authorities who need a reliable source of certified, quality-assured soil. Prefer to collect? Unlike much of the topsoil sold online, ours contains no recycled materials, by-products, or construction waste. It is sourced from our own greenfield agricultural land in Kinross and processed to meet BS 3882 topsoil Scotland standards, the British Standard for topsoil quality. This matters for turfing and seeding projects where contaminated soil can impair germination and root growth.

Screened topsoil is a general-purpose, fine-graded soil suited to garden beds, borders, raised areas, and ground levelling. Rootzone soil is a sandy loam mix with a looser, more granular structure, specifically designed as a topsoil for turfing or grass seed. It drains well, retains enough moisture, and promotes rapid rooting. Both products are available year-round. Yes. We offer next-day topsoil delivery in Edinburgh, as well as delivery across Glasgow, Dundee, Perth, Fife, Stirling, the Scottish Borders, and beyond. All orders are dispatched from our farm in Scotlandwell, Kinross, and arrive in bulk bags ready to use. For topsoil for a new lawn, we recommend a minimum depth of 100mm across the area to be turfed or seeded. To calculate volume, multiply your lawn length by its width, then multiply by 0.1 (for 100mm depth). This gives you the required cubic metres. All of Turffit’s topsoils are tested to BS 3882:2015 standards, which ensure the correct pH level, an ideal physical composition, appropriate electrical conductivity, and the maximum permitted stone content. None of their soil products contains recycled or by-product materials, so customers can have total confidence that the product is safe for the environment and free from contaminants.

Turffit’s topsoil range, including Screened Topsoil and Rootzone, is available in bulk bags for delivery. Their Screened Bedding Soil is also available in 25kg bags, though this option is for collection only. The amount of topsoil you need depends on the area and the required depth. As a general rule, for lawn turfing with Rootzone, a depth of 100–150mm is recommended. Turffit topsoils are “bunded” (stored) to allow soil-borne pests to disappear, a process that can take up to five years. They contain absolutely no recycled materials, eliminating the risk of glass, food waste, or sharps like nails and wood. All soils are regularly tested in accordance with BS 3882:2015, covering pH, physical composition, electrical conductivity, and stone content.

Yes, the collection is available. Turffit’s Screened Bedding Soil in 25kg bags is available for collection only. If you can’t use your topsoil straight away, store it on a hard, flat surface away from drains to prevent runoff. Cover it with a breathable tarp to protect it from heavy rain and weed seeds while allowing airflow. Avoid compacting it into a deep pile. Turffit’s soils contain no recycled waste or contaminants, so properly stored, they’ll remain in excellent condition until you’re ready to use them.
